Gram Sabha under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

On 13th August 2018, one "Gram Sabha" was conducted by Mahatma Gandhi University in the community hall of Byrnihat under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. In that "Gram Sabha" the representatives of six villages namely Nongkylla Khasi Village, Jorbil village, 15 th Mile Nonghymmai village, Tamuli Kuchi village, Borbhuin village of Byrnihat, Jorabat village were present with their villagers. The total number of people present was 225.

In that Gram Sabha the department of Sociology and Rural Development of the University were taken active part and Ms. Mamata Pandit, the Assistant Professor of Department of Sociology was presented the Development Plan of the University under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.


The villagers are interested in all the offered training programs and ready to cooperate with the University, but with it the villagers requested to solve the health problems of them which were created by the smog that used to release from the nearby industry of coal and cement. In spite of that the villagers also requested to provide them piglets to rear to help the commercial need of them.
