No person is big or small. If we give emphasis on the dignity of an individual then change can be brought about.
- Shri Narendra Modi

SKILL DEVELOPMENT

India has a cumulative population of 1.2 billion that is expected to reach 1.48 billion by 2030. India will be the largest contributor to the global workforce, with the working-age population (aged 15-59) likely to swell from 749 million to 962 million over 2010 to 2030. By 2020, the average age in India will be only 29 years, compared with 37 in China and the United States, 45 in Western Europe, and 48 in Japan.

Currently, only a very small proportion of India’s workforce has any formal skill training. Therefore, not surprisingly, several sectors of the country’s economy face shortage of skilled people and are mired with low productivity levels due to poor quality of workforce.
