Gram Sabha under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

25 th August, 2018, Ri Bhoi District of Meghalaya: On 25 th August 2018, one "Gram Sabha" was conducted by Mahatma Gandhi University in the community hall of Jorbil under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. In that "Gram Sabha" majority of the villagers were present with their headman. The total number of people present was 80. In that Gram Sabha the department of Sociology and Rural Development of the University were taken active part and Ms. Mamata Pandit, the Assistant Professor of Department of Sociology and Rural Development was presented the Development Plan of the University under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. The villagers are interested in all the offered training programs and ready to cooperate with the University, but with it the villagers requested to solve the health problems of them as the dispensary of the village has been closed for last 12 years and they tried a lot to reopen it but failed to do so. In spite of that the villagers also requested to provide sewing machine to them for the economic growth of their family.
