One day special lecture was held on the topic "Governmental Schemes of Rural Development and Use of Technology in Rural Development Schemes" on 13th February 2019 under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Unit of Mahatma Gandhi University, Meghalaya. The special lecture was provided by Shri A Simhachalm, Assistant Professor and i/c CGARD of National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, North Easter Regional Centre Khanapara Guwahati. The program was stated at 12.00 noon positively. The Program was flourished with the anchoring of Mr. Lobiyoth Chakma and Mr. Junjun M Marak, the students of second semester of Master of Rural Development.
At the beginning of the program the Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, Dr. Mohon Bhattacharyya and the Chief Guest Shri A Simhacham were felicitated by the phulam Gamosa. Miss Dopilila Sanglam and Miss Rima Kaipeng and Miss Arenla Longchar the students of fourth semester and Miss Tana Picha, Miss Atholi Sumi and Miss Imtimongla Kichu the students of second semester of Master of Sociology were participated in felicitation ceremony. The program was followed by lighting of lamp in which along with Vice Chancellor of the University and the Chief Guest, Miss Mamata Pandit, the Nodal officer of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Unit of Mahatma Gandhi University was participated. After the lightening of the lamp, the Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University inaugurated the program with his welcome address followed by the encouraging speech of Shri A Simhachalam. Sir Simhachalam was explained about the schemes of Rural Development such as MNREGA, IAY, PMGSY, SSA etc. with the use of technology to reduce corruption in the implementation of Rural Development schemes. His lecture was really very useful for all the audiences. In that program Mr. Tengchang B Marak, Mr. Choonghsal R Marak, Miss Walme R Marak, Mr. Alwyn Kesen, Mr. Vinato T Zhimomi, Mr. Onasan D Shira, the students of second semester of Rural Development were engaged in hospitality and Mr. Kakito A Awomi and Mr. Hika K Swu the students of second semester of Rural Development were engaged in photography. The program was ended by the vote of Thanks of Mamata Pandit, the Nodal Officer of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Unit of Mahatma Gandhi University. Total eighty five people were present in the program and they suggest to UBA team of Mahatma Gandhi University to organize another program about the use of Technology in the implementation of Rural Development.
