The Mahatma Gandhi University, Meghalaya embraced the Inter-Department Cultural Fest as the dashing start of the new session 2018-19 on the 31st of August, 2018 in the Seminar Hall of MGU Campus. The program started with lightening of the lamp by the Hon. Vice-Chancellor, along with the Registrar, and the Deputy Registrar-Academics. It continued with the welcome address by the Registrar which was welcomed by all. The Guest for the day was Ms. Kakoli Buragohain who is Visharad from Bhatkhande who was adorned with Gamusa in the most traditional and cultural style.
The program started with a lot of zeal and applauds. There were all together 6 competitions that was being conducted during the Inter-Department Cultural day program namely Singing cum Guitar Competition, Drama Competition, Mimicry, Dancing Competition, Face Painting and Wall Painting Competition and The MGU# Selfie Competition which is the Unique competition being solely organized by Mahatma Gandhi University. The honorable judges for the competition were the eminent faculties of different departments of MGU. The Cultural dance and singing performed by the students of the University showcased the ethnicity and the mesmerizing beauty of North-Eastern States of India and the in-built talent that our students carry.
The audience encouraged and cheered the participants with a lot of excitement and the participants were invigorated with beauty and grace with the best of performances.
There was huge applauds for the enthusiasm and the talent that the University students nurture within them. University feels very proud to give them the stage to show and present their talents and skills on the grandstand.
The face painting and the wall painting showed the core creative and brilliant decorative minds of the students of MGU.
The Vice-Chancellor congratulated all the enthusiastic participants and winners of the different competitions on the event of cultural day and encouraged all to continue carry forward this imbibed positive smart attitude and spirit in every sphere of their life.
